  • We serve early-stage technology startups and small-to-midsize businesses as outside general counsel, advising them through everyday legal issues and critical transactions.

  • We employ a suite of processes, systems, and tools that allow us to deliver service at lower rates, with less attorney time, and leverage past experience for constantly improving advice.

About You:

  • You have at least 4 years of mergers & acquisition (M&A) experience from an AmLaw 200 firm or a sophisticated boutique.

  • You think that the traditional law firm model is broken.

  • You thrive when working independently and navigating uncertainty. You are proactive and conscientious.

  • You have a strong ability to prioritize and stay organized while juggling multiple commitments.

  • You lead compassionately and mindfully.

  • You are licensed to practice law in the United States (Rhode Island is preferred, but not required).

About The Role:

  • Base salary is $183,000 - $219,000.

  • We are committed to work-life balance and expect you to work (not bill) about 40-45 hours per week. In our experience, this translates to 20-25 billable hours per week, but we don't want our attorneys focused on billings. With rare exceptions, we respect your nights and weekends, and we always honor holidays and vacations.

  • You will initially manage acquisitions and other significant projects for our existing clients.

  • As you demonstrate your ability, you will have the opportunity to lead client relationships and expand your substantive practice.

  • While new business development is not required, we will support your efforts to bring on new clients and develop your practice.

  • You will help us build and refine systems for improving client experience and increasing the value of our services.

  • In addition to base salary, we offer incentive-based bonuses in the target range of $10,000 - $50,000, with the potential to go even higher. Our bonuses reward high-billing months, project management, client relationship management, and origination.

  • We are a remote-first company, where the team works together, in-person, about once a week. For talented, experienced candidates, we will consider a fully-remote arrangement.
